STORY OF THE FIRST EP — O.H.D VOL. 2

From 2019, I was writing a lot of music and hiding all of it.
Not because it was bad.
Not because I didn’t care.
But because I wasn’t ready to be seen.
I was still figuring myself out. Still learning my voice. Still unsure if the world was a place I wanted to step into with my truth in my hands. So I did what a lot of people do when they’re unsure, I created in private.
The songs on Old Hard Drives Vol. 2 were written during that time. Late nights. Headphones on. No audience. No pressure. Just feelings turning into melodies, words turning into verses. Afro Rap rhythms, French R&B moods, and a lot of emotions I didn’t yet know how to explain.
When the songs were finished, I didn’t release them.
I saved them.
They went into folders on my computer. Then onto an external hard drive. Then into the background of my life. I told myself, “One day.” And that day kept moving.
Life happened. I grew. I changed. I became more comfortable with who I am and what my art sounds like. And one day, years later, I opened that hard drive again.
Listening back was strange.
I didn’t hear someone inexperienced.
I heard someone honest.
I heard a younger version of myself trying to understand love, identity, and the world without filters, without trends, without expectations. And I realized something important: just because I wasn’t ready back then doesn’t mean the music wasn’t.
So I decided to let it go.
Old Hard Drives Vol. 2 is not about perfection. It’s about memory. It’s about the moments we all store away because we don’t feel ready to share them yet. It’s about growth not by erasing the past, but by finally embracing it.
Why Volume 2?
Because there’s more.
Volume 1 still exists. Still untouched. Still waiting on the same hard drive. Maybe it’ll come out. Maybe it won’t. Or maybe it’ll appear when the timing feels right just like this one did.
This EP is for anyone who’s ever written something and deleted it. Recorded something and never posted it. Felt something deeply but kept it to themselves. It’s for the versions of ourselves we outgrow, but never forget.
These songs lived quietly for a long time.
Now they get to live out loud.

A wonderful serenity has taken possession of my entire soul, like these sweet mornings of spring which I enjoy with my whole heart. I am alone, and feel the charm of existence in this spot, which was created for the bliss of souls like mine. I am so happy.
my dear friend, so absorbed in the exquisite sense of mere tranquil existence, that I neglect my talents.
I feel that I never was a greater artist than now. When, while the lovely valley teems with vapour around me, and the meridian sun strikes the upper surface of the impenetrable foliage of my trees, and but a few stray gleams steal into the inner sanctuary.
